We acquired this species through a confiscation. Even though this species is not listed as endangered, we house it as a research attempt for future conservation breeding of similar species.
Besides threatened by habitat loss, this species experiences high pressure in trapping for cage-bird trade. Its number in the wild has been projected to continue declining in the future.
