Scientific Name Irena puella turcosa
- Conservational Status Least Concerned (globally) - Distribution Irena puella as a species is widely distributed from Myanmar all the way south to Java in Indonesia. It also occurs in Southwest India. Irena puella turcossa, on the other hand, only occurs on Java Island.
Even though this species is distributed in a vast area, Irena puella turcossa only occurs in Java. By occurring exclusively in Java, this subspecies is facing imminent threats, such as poaching for cage bird trade and habitat loss due to human activities.
